RE: Lanzo Swayback
I have built the airframe for one of these and another flyer finished it off.
I understand why Chet Lanzo never cared for it. In comparison to his Bomber it is a dog.
With a wing loading of 14 ounces it is going to be (for climb and glide) a dog to beat all dogs. However it may burn well!!!

I sure would've suspected it to be a dog.
However, this Sunday we flew it twice here in Muncie, IN at the AMA site. Both times we had to spin it down.
Doesn't like to be controlled though. In the climb, it went every which way until we let go of the sticks. Then it tracked as though it was on a straight 40deg rail.
Will post the videos as soon as I get them uploaded to YouTube. Prepare to be let down because it was just a tiny speck for most of the recording.
Weight will now be brought down. Builder used huge digital servos and a big 6v battery pack.

RE: Lanzo Swayback
Now you are talking!
For up a .40 sized Old Timer model I use Hi tec HS81 servos for the Elevator and Rudder. Use cheap Dynam 8.4 gram servo (1.6kg/cm) for the throttle.
Use the Tower Hobbies Hydramax NmH 750 milliamp battery and you can fly all day without worrying about the charge.
I use the Spektrum AR500 5 channel full range receiver which weighs 7 grams!!.
If you can't reduce the wing loading to a SAM minimum of 10 ounces to the square foot you are not trying hard enough!!
Light models fly best - especially the Old Timer designs.
Good luck and good flying,
Paul N

RE: Lanzo Swayback
ps to my previous post.
My wife and I have been to Muncie Indiana. We have friends who live in Noblesville Indiana and they took us for a drive to the AMA hall of fame, when we were there 2 years ago.
Beautiful field and the museum was great - bought the T shirt as well!!
