Vintage Cox Airplanes .049
Hi,
I have been flying control line planes for 40+ years. I own 170 cox .049 planes and a few vintage Testors planes as well. My favorite Plane is the Cox Stuka. In my opinion it is the sweetest plane ever made as far as looks go. I also love the P-40 Flying Tiger (Warhawk). There are sooo many awesome cox planes to collect and now there is a site dedicated to all of the old school stuff. Most sites have a section for the vintage stuff. This site, only deals with vintage rc and control line models, www.HobbyReview.net

Many years ago, I used to fly the two CL models you have noted. One of which was flown many-many times on a parking lot in Phoenix. They all seemed to have some variant of the Baby Bee for power. And thus cheap fuel and a marginal battery could be used.
One of our readers is well into older CL models (most here are in to modern R/C types), and straightens folks out on occasion too. He wants to add into his collection an old aluminum based model that I got new and have used on occasion for decades now.
We have a few readers who live near to you now too.
Wm.
