Kand B 40 with Perry Carb

I have a K and B .40 that I bought new in the mid 70s and really never ran more than an hour or so. It was when they came with no muffler and the throttle had a gate to close off the exhaust when the throttle was at idle. I added a Macs muffler and never got it to run well ( I was young and impatient then). I bought a Perry Carb for it later but never really used it.

Tonight I ran it and it ran pretty well but needs some tuning in transition. Can anyone point me to a setup for the Perry Carb?

Thanks

Pat,
The disc on the side of the carb has a + and a - on it. Turn the disc toward the + to lean the idle and toward the - to make it richer.
Also there are two O rings on the inside behind the disc that will flatten out and cause trouble. The part with the disc can be removed by taking the C clip off the backside and pulling it out. There is a small slot between the O rings that can get stopped up with a very small piece of trash. Trash in it will cause it to run lean.

Thanks for the info - I will try to adjust it tonight - if that doesn't work, I'll pull it apart and change the O rings and clean it.

That little slot is your idle jet. Remember, too, to make only the tiniest adjustments to the mixture disc. If all is right, the disc won't be off center by more than the width of the screwdriver slot.
