TF P-39 cockpit.
Having a severe senior's moment installing a cockpit kit in a gold edition P-39. The instructions on pg.19 of the manual say to cut F3 and Ip as per the drawing. I trimmed F3 so its sides are vertical but not sure of the cut on IP. Should it be cut so the foot pedal area of the plastic instrument panel fits underneath? Also, how much of the raised plastic should be trimmed from the floor, sides an instrument panel? When the plastic parts are removed from the vacuum formed sheet the edge is almost 1/4 " high.Should they be trimmed so that edge is removed? I hope this makes a bit of sense.

The "IP" stands for "Instrument Panel". You need to cut whatever is necessary to get the cockpit kit to fit correctly. There must be a place for the pilot's feet to go under the instrument panel. Trim the plastic as needed to make it look good. Generally, you trim as much as possible to avoid it looking like it's a thick block. You don't trim close to the back of the sheet, but as close to the panels, themselves.
