Default gp p51d root end

i am just about to start assembling the wing on my aircraft and it says to pin one of the wing spars doubler side up and towards the root end? i think the root end is the side that the doubler is on but *** i still dont get it do they mean to have the root end towards the inside of the wing like pointing at the fuselage?

The wing root is the part of the wing that attaches to the fuselage. The wing spar detail on the wing plans shows that the spar doublers are at the root end of the spar.
