Default How is a HH gyro connected to the AXE? (Works)

This seems to be the way to connect the heading hold gyro, however I get no tail rotor spinning in the pictured configuration.
This is a stock Heli-Max AXE CP with a brushed tail motor (I assume it's a brushed motor)
1) Instructions say this goes to tail servo.
2) This is an esky EK2-0704A and the light turns red then blue.
3) Tail motor unplugged that goes to AXE ESC
4) Esky EK2-0600A with BEC for brushed motors speed control
5) Plug for gyro (unplugged), when plugged into the slot 5, the main and tail motors turns on/off with throttle always on.
6) Gyro plugged into slot 4, orange wire just below goes to AXE ESC and plugged into pin one.
7) Plug to tail motor

Any ideas on how to make this work?

*Revised*

I figured it out.

Referencing the picture.
Reverse #1 and remove the center wire. (I had the center wire removed after the picture)
#2 the label has to be faced toward the tail.

It's working on my 'spin jig'. (partly pictured). Having 30 MPH winds today so a test flight will have to wait.

Be careful, with the HH gyro installed, the tail rotor motor will spin even with the throttle is off.

I followed these [link=http://manuals.hobbico.com/hmx/hmxe04-gyro-manual.pdf]Instructions[/link] and it worked for me. To bad the gyro I had is a total P.O.S.!!!!! I went back to stock.

I did follow the instructions that you posted. Did you connect it the same as shown in my picture? Did you use the same components as I did? The only thing I noticed is the added ESC didn't beep, but it's not clear if it does beep.

Number 3 and 7 are confusing. Why two tail motor plugs.
5 and 6 have two gyro plugs also. ???

I do not see where you have pulled the center wire for the second ECS? My gyro had leads coming out of it, so I am sort of guessing a little here but where the tail rotor ESC plugs into the gyro, should have the center wire unplugged?

Does number 3 go to the 3 in 1? does #7 go to the tail motor?

By what you have pictured, I can only guess a cure. There's some wires that you have added that are not part of any electronic component either OEM or after market ESC or gyro. But, everything looks good except, as Dru stated you must disable the tail motor's BEC by not using the red wire going into the gyro at figure 1. Disconnect it and secure it with electrical tape. Then, what 5 is is confusing, but from what I have read the single wire from your gyro should be plugged into the "black" wire post on your reciever at position 5 servo. This forces it into HH mode and not Rate mode. The orange wire from the 3-1 is no longer needed and should be secured with black electrical tape so it doesn't short out.

Again, the red plastic connector at your figure 5 has me baffled. What is it and where did you get it?

What do you think?

I don't see why you are asking blvdbuzzard, your post indicates that you already have it working.

Everything is explained in my first post. All the part numbers are there, so they can be looked up.

Did you disable the BEC on the tail motor's ESC?

Looks like you're still using the original Ni-mh battery pack. You will need more power for the additional gyro and esc.

Does your battery plug into BOTH esc's with a "Y" connection?

Update...

Just had my first successful flight, with no crashing.

This gyro works like a champ! It seems after the gyro initializes, one needs to swing the tail back and forth to initialize the speed controller. There is no speed controller drop out like I have read about and the dreaded pirouetting (I'm using a Li-po). I don't see why there would be, the cut-off on the speed control is at 2.75 volts for a Li-po.

This setup cost me about $50USD.
