HeliMax Battery Recall
URGENT PRODUCT RECALL NOTICE for the Heli-Max Axe CP-L LiPo Battery
Heli-Max is recalling the GPMP0401 Lithium Polymer Battery Pack included with the Axe CP-L Helicopter (HMXE06**) purchased between November 2007 and April 2008. Heli-Max has determined that in some cases the battery pack may pose a fire hazard. Customers are advised to IMMEDIATELY STOP USING THE BATTERY PACK and follow the instructions below to return it and obtain a free replacement.
Recall applies to “GPMP0401” only.
Mandatory Recall: This recall is mandatory and applies only to the battery labeled with the stock number GPMP0401. The label reads
“ElectriFly 950 mAh 11.1V Lithium Polymer Battery” and has the stock number GPMP0401. The recall is only for the GPMP0401 battery included with the Axe CP-L helicopter or purchased separately as a replacement.
This recall does not apply to batteries labeled as GPMP0709 or GPMP0405.
Return and Replacement:
Customers are advised to immediately stop using the battery and follow these instructions. Heli-Max will provide an improved lithium polymer battery pack free of charge as a replacement. U.S. customers must return their battery (a postage-paid mailer will be provided) to Heli-Max by following the procedure described on this web site:

As an alternative, you may call 1-866-462-2426 (toll free in USA and Canada) or 1-217-398-8970 for information about how to return your battery and obtain a replacement.
Upon receipt of your information submitted on the special battery recall web site (or by calling one of the phone numbers above) Heli-Max will send you a return shipping box (U.S. customers only) including a pre-paid shipping label to return the battery for replacement. A replacement will then be sent to you at no charge. Please DO NOT return your battery without following these procedures.
This recall procedure applies only to customers in the USA. If you live outside of the USA please contact your retailer for recall instructions. Canadian customers should contact Heli-Max for instructions. See the contact information below.
