Default Queston on ball joints?

Which way does the little dot face. There is a certain way the ball joints clip on but I dont know which way the dot faces.

The dot faces away from the ball (it's a convention that whatever marking is there faces out).

I have made 1/2 turns with the links and have had no problems. Sometimes you need only a half turn to get the blades to track.

Are the ball links really manufactured with one side larger than the other?

yep... one side is larger than the other side. Some people don't realize this and end up breaking it.

A few aren't, in fact, but most are. If you look closely you can see the difference by looking at the thickness of the flat part on each side- the side that goes out has a broader flat section because of the slightly smaller opening.

Yes i know thats the same thing that got me to asking this question. I was looking at the tutorial vids on helifreak and they show that half turn adjustments should be made from another link. I dont know the name of it but I will get the vid link.

Look at ball links 101
