My Hirobo SDX50 loops, flips, inverted hover - YOUTUBE
Managed to fly and shoot video at the same time. Just can't zoom in/out at the same time. Clutch liner repair test - loops, flips, inverted hover......

This is the second test flight since replacing the clutch liner. The gap between the clutch liner and the shoe is a little close. At idle the clutch is still engaged spinning the blades so I have to throttle cut to cut the engine. Normally I shut of the fuel line and drain the line dry. Starting is not a problem as there is not enough clutch engagement to fully spin the blades and can be held while starting. So will wait for the liner to wear.

Sure is nice seeing a Hirobo nitro in action in Perth! We've got about a dozen Hirobo pilots in our club most of which are now running SDX's. I still have a Sceadu EVO .50 SWM, and a few others do too, but most have moved up to the SDX. Most of us are running Thunder Tiger Redline 53H's and we're pretty happy with them. There's a couple OS's running around out there too. We're using "Magnum" fuel with 0% nitro to good effect and lower cost ~72 USD per 5 gallons (20 litres). More than enough power to suit us anyway.
That clutch lining will wear down in a few more flights and you'll be good to go! Stay outta the dirt, mate!

I have been flying for 3 1/2 years. Started in the back yard (HBK2, WDF4, 4G1B), fly, crash, repair, fly, crash, repair............etc............never gave up! I have only had a sim for 1 year. The videos I posted including 2 of my Hurricane is the result of 6 weeks of hard out sim time and have only been flying like this within those 6 weeks. The SDX completed the build in August. I can do much more on the sim but will enjoy what I have acheived for now before I progress.

Hirobo SDX 5th flight of the day 16.01.11
Flight no 134. 5th flight of the day. Got my daughter to shoot a couple of videos. A better camera than mine. 12 mega pixels. I also flew a little close this time and captured some good video. My RevMax even drops out in the middle of the video. Balance tape starts to peel off due to the nitro on the blades.
