Default 5645's and A123's or do I need 5685MH's for safe operation and long life

I have used many 5645's and have been happy with them. I have been useing A123's for one season now with excellent results. Currently I am building a 1/5 scale mustang, and am wondering if I should buy 5645's or the new 5685MH's. I do not need the extra power they would provide, but am more concerned with the safety of a123's with normal 6v rated 5645's or am I worrying over nothing in regards to the voltage?
