Can I run a HS-805 without the Y Cable?
Mike,
Giant scale Sport aerobatic configuration
1 ea HS-425 (Throttle)
3 ea HS-700 (Aileron/Aileron/Elevator)
1 ea HS-805 (Rudder)
8ch Supreme Rx
SR 2000 mah 5-cell 6V pack (Sub-C type cells) Nicads
Can I run a HS-805 from the Rx in "stock" configuration instead of using separate battery off the Y cable?
Sound like a safe combo? I know the HS-805 is a pretty heavy loading servo....just want to be on the cautious side.
Is there a standard calculation of mah loads on a Rx battery (adding up loads from servos + rx - battery capacity with time calculated in there somewhere)?
Thanks!
Let me know when I'm asking too many stupid questions...

RE: Can I run a HS-805 without the Y Cable?
Ok,
So, your saying hang the battery off the Y-cable going to the 805 and the Rx with other servos will draw power from the battery as well (powered up from the Rudder channel, essentially)?
I know best setup is dual battery... one for the 805 and one for Rx+other servos.
Is there a mah rating across the Rx? Like a never exceed 1amp continuious or something? The owners manual and specs on website don't have that kind of info.
Thanks again for your help!

RE: Can I run a HS-805 without the Y Cable?
Yes, all the servos in the RX will pull from the battery but the power to the 805 will not go through the RX bus.
Typically an RX can handle about 2A for each servo. The 805 can pull more than that in some situations.
Mike.
