RE: Hitec Spectra 2.4 module upgrade
Just checked mine for fit, it does not snap in.
Sitting side by side you can see the latching clip is about a 1/32" further out than the futaba module.
Seems to fit tight, but the last thing we need is for the module to fall out while were in the air.
I've tried it in both the 7U and 8U, same thing no snap

Good news, I've got an easy fix.
Actually the latching clip where it's supposed to snap in is a little bit higher up. I took a small flat file & filed it down enough so now it snaps in.
Now I'm happy.
Still working on the upside down feature.

Great thing you guys are doing here!!! I odered a module for my old but very loved 7 UAF TX and other than not fitting in my original TX box [sm=49_49.gif] it is sweet!!!!! what a great way to keep my 7UAF modern! I am going to upgrade my 8 UAF as well this week. It was a fast turn around on the module for sure. My credit card was just charged yesterday for my 2- 7 channel RX from the A-9 promo so it is all good. Again, great job and an awesome products Hitec!!!!! the guys at the field who are all hard core JR guys even approve BTW I put big Hitec stickers on my Hangar 9 Funtana and my old Jerries Big Boy just to be ornery, I just wish I could get some even larger graphics!!![8D]

RE: Hitec Spectra 2.4 module upgrade
When moving the stick left or right (aileron) on my 9C with the 2.4 module & Opitma 9 receivers I'm getting a slight rudder twitch.
Happens with all three planes with Opitma 9 receivers when the stick is about half way over.
Also getting a twitch with down elevator. Tried plugging in a different servo, switching to scan mode & using the SPC feature. Still the same. I'm using standard 9C mixing for twin elevator & ailerons serovos. Do not have the rudder mixed in. I don't notice anything when flying because it's a slight twich, however it is disconcerting to say the least.
I also notice a beep from the module once in a while when flying. What's up with that?
Anybody else having these issues?
Is there a fix for this?

RE: Hitec Spectra 2.4 module upgrade
I'm not sure about the twitch in the controls but the beep from the module would indicate that your receiver battery voltage is dropping too low under flight load. This can result in a brown out if it drops too low so my guess is that your rx battery is on its way out and should be replaced before you fly again. It could also be that the rx battery simply is not big enough to handle the current that all the servos draw under flight load.

Guess the promotion is over. Didn't hear of it until today. Been thinking of converting my 9C to 2.4. The combo deals are so good I guess I didn't miss too much.

For those with TX Spectra Pro module combos (inc Aurora TX) and watching this thread, suggest a visit to:
Aurora A9 - Helicopter Set Up -Finless Bob's Helifreak Tech Room - Review Tips and how-To Videos
(may need to join & sign in) and download/watch the last two videos on how to upgrade your Spectra Pro 2.4GhzModule to V2 which permits user to set cut off warning voltage signal fromOptima transceiver. V2. will be available very shortly..
Aurora will have two settable receiver voltage warnings, one via TX and second viaModule alarm..
No doubt users have already taken the opportunity to upgrade theit Optimato V1.02?

$114.99 (and free shipping) for the Hitec Spectra 2.4GHz Module with two Optima 6-Channel Receivers

The promotional module plus two Optima 6 receivers would cost about $130 including all shipping.

RE: Hitec Spectra 2.4 module upgrade
Just ordered my Aurora 9 with Optima 7 RX. Is there anything I have to do to the radio before I download the new upgrades. Don't want to screw anything up with the TX programming.

RE: Hitec Spectra 2.4 module upgrade
I have just updated my Aurora 9 from 1.6 to 1.7 and wondering if anybody else that did this lost the RX battery icon on the main screen. I thought it was the radio so I went back to the older version and it works just fine. I REALLY like the touch screen lock on the new version but I like the abillaty to see my RX battery voltage better.

RE: Hitec Spectra 2.4 module upgrade
Hi Mike, any plans for Hitec to expand their capability to more than 9ch? I would be a taker for a JR Spektra module but would like 12 ch capability. Or is that too much to ask?
ORIGINAL: MikeMayberry
That would be an affirmative! It's a couple months away.

Mike - is Hitec considering making modules that would be compatible with JR transmitters, like the 8103 or 9303? Just wondering
