Default Dynamyte 086

I was thinking about getting the Dynamyte 086 pipe, but then I noticed that the pipe seemingly comes in only a left-exhaust version. IS there a right exhaust version that works with the Savage? I've heard of people using this pipe with a Savage, so I know it works... but how?

i have used that pipe you just need to make a flat part on the it so it will fit.

hmm. Elaborate on that please. The pressure fitting would be at the bottom of the Savage though... would that be a problem?
And wouldn't the header need extended TVPs to fit, the stock one is bent at a really weird angle so it won't brush the shocks.

Pictures of your 086 Savage's assembely would be worth about a million words.

You let the stinger point down not out. The pressure fitting is slightly off set so it doesnt go straight in to the side of the Savages frame.

Stinger out is how the true enthusiast mounts his pipe.

Thunder, that's NOT a Dynamite 086. If it was then the pressure tap would be at the bottom of the pipe...... Is that okay?

If I get a 086 and can't mount it, I blame you! :P XD

It's an STS 0702 and the pressure nipple IS at the bottom.

o.0 So it doesn't matter! Yay!
Well I'm getting that one. One more thing (not neccissarily too you but to anyone) is that the new header might not fit, noting how the stock one is bent like that to avoid scraping the shocks. So basically, the question is a yes or no to your average rear exhaust header fitting on a normal stock Savage without scraping the shocks.

BuMp.
Do you need to get a chassis extension to fit new headers? Sorry for the urgency, Christmas is coming up and that's a good excuse to order crap.

Most 1/8 buggy headers won't fit without hitting the shock, and some won't fit without hitting the shock tower.

ThunderbirdJunkie is running an STS header on one truck, and a THS header on the other one, but the Savage pictured only has four shocks, so he can run anything he wants on that one.

Ohhh. So my best bet is to buy some FLM EXT LCG TVPS (mouthful of acronyms) and then I'm set? Got it... I guess that was coming eventually.

1/8th buggy headers will work on the X chassis, but not on the S21 S25 chassis. You can run about anything on an XL.

An X with a stock Picco 28 and an 086 pipe.....

What TVPs are you using?
Btw, nice vid, that's the vid that persuaded me to buy a Savage! No kidding!
...
well, along with the one where he dropped a stocker off progressively higher jumps until something broke...

You could also get a set of Flux Big bore shocks. They only run one shock on each corner. Then you shouldnt have any problems.

The Flux big bores are cheap. It's the aluminum big bores that are expensive.

And worth it.

Are the flux big bores ok with extreme jumps? Or should I stick to the stock 8 for that?

Flux big bores = $70
$70 = NOT cheap.

I'd rather buy a two speed, or a pipe for that much. I don't exceed the 8 shocks' dampening anyway, because I usually just run it like a buggy with some occasional small jumps. FLM is supposed to be good with customer service, right? So that means if I buy the non extended plates and the pipe doesn't fit, I can just send em back and get the extendeds. But I don't want to kill my wheelieing!!
