Default Ebay F4.6

As you know, I'm trying to get a new Picco .28 P3 at less than $100 out of my own pocket, and almost did last weekend but lost the bid by a couple dollars. What do you think I could sell a broken in but never used half gallon F4.6 for on ebay? It really works well, never gone over 270 and continued to run it, and i broke it in with about 15 tanks. I have videos of my Savage with it in it bashing doing wheelies and showing power. Do you think I could get $100 bucks on ebay for it?

I see Tower sells the F4.6 new for $170. Half of that, about $85, might be more reasonable.

If you ask me, this engine is worth more than new since its pre broken in and never abused, but I guess I can't really prove that to anyone online. : (
Well, I guess 85$ could work. I'll do an auction. 85$ or highest bid. Now I just need to find a Picco .28 for $185. Or is there some way to prove from pictures that the engine is in peak condition? Like taking it apart or something? : (

Is Active Powersports a scam? I notice it has the lowest price for the picco by $20.......... seems like something is wrong there.

the minute you started the engine, its value declined, new engines are worth more than used engines.

You could be a really good sales person but there are way to many idiots that cant break an engine in. I trust nobody but myself for this process so IMO it could be a junked engine. If the Head is not scratched that will help. if it has any scratches on it forget it and good luck with getting 85 bux for it.

The last thing I would do is take the engine apart. You maybe better off trying to sell it here rather then ebay. Dont forget the business side of it....Percentage to Ebay and percentage to Paypal. It's not worth the effort for 85.00-10.00 in percentages 75.00 bux.

There are plenty of forums you may have better luck with rather then Ebay

yea for what you will get for that engine, you should just keep it. the f4.6 is a good engine. especially as a spare.

Agree I got an engine that only had 5 tanks ran on it (no head scratches, and the savage was in basically mint condition with 5 light scratches) that the guy had no idea what he was doing and totaled the engine. Popped it open the head was pitch black, he shipped it with the piston at the top of its stroke so the piston was actually stuck, shipped it with its last tank of fuel, and it had rusting in it... So glad I was expecting a crapped up engine or I would have been disappointed.

I also bought a engine labeled HPI .12 that was supposedly only broken in, and used 3 additional tanks. Got if for $30 turned out to a G3.0 that had a black piston head, and the piston has some scratches on top (luckily none on the sides), and again piston was not kept at BDC so I had a royal pain to turn the damn flywheel.

So to the OP I'm sure you know what your doing but alot of people hit crap like that on ebay and no longer believe the ads. Personally I'd only go 1/3rd of the price tops for a used engine.

*sighs*
Well I guess it's useless then. I need at least $85 and it doesn't seem like I'm going to get that much. : (
I might as well keep counting my pennies.... : (

Here it is.... It's just your average F4.6...... As you can see, no bent fins or anything but there is a scratch on the head. So that's not good. (Damn plastic roll bar bends too much!)

It's not cleaned or anything, this is right before I put it back into my FLMed savage.

So I was just looking around and I saw a guy on SavvyCentral who sold one that looks practically identical to mine for $90! And someone bought it! There may be a hope yet.
Tell me, does the F4.6 clutch, flywheel, and engine mounting plate work with the Picco .28? And how many clutch bell teeth should I use for the Picco?

Thanks a lot guys, you are so helpful!

What are you going to do when you start breaking drive line parts due to the Higher HP of the Picco? If you cant affort the engine out rite how do you plan to keep up on broken parts. Having a big bad high hp motor is all fun but be prepaired for repairs.

I figure it'll be at least a year before I need to put in the BP diffs. Its not really a matter of having the money, its a mater of having the money now .

Thanks smoke. I got something lined up for the summer but bashing season would be over by that time... I completely forgot #1 rule: If you're a kid don't admit your age on an adult forum... If you don't you'll be fine and everyone will take you seriously as long as you use good grammar!

FYI the pipe is brand new.

Put it on ebay hope for the best, or set a starting bid at your bottom dollar! If it dosen't sale relist it at less! Tower Hobbies Picco P3 .28 $174.99! Work hard and you'll get there!

Last time i checked Tower had it for 199
