here is my OS 28 vs Version 1 Picco 28....the OS 28 blew the spur before it was done testing

Im very impressed with your results dude. This really puts me in a bind cause i love adams work and his customer service, but you also have the same rep. Hmmmm i want another motor.... stuck in the middle here i am.

If you could get a Picco 28 up to 2.5+hp and 100oz/in id buy that motor

I don't mean to sound bad here, but I would just stay where you are happy ! I have absolutely no issue with you buying one of my engines , but in the same breath I am not out to steal anyone's customers....
I agree but i am a consumer and want the most for my money. I just want to know if you could get a picco up that high?

What application are you looking for an engine for ? another Picco for a Savage ?

So I did the 18t/47t combo and I don't like it all. Yes even with the power of a modded picco it's a dog. I think 17/52 is my sweet spot. The top end with the 18t isn't much more IMO

wow really? 17/47 works beautifully even with an f4.6, i know 1 tooth on the cb usually counts for about three on a spur, but a dog. no wonder the thing seems crazy on 17/52 thats quite alot higher of a ratio. do the piccos have a weak bottom end? do you have really big tires? Or an all top end pipe?

my mod Picco's have massive bottom end......We run 17/47 on terrapins with power to spare...on regular tires a 18/47 would be no issue at all .....In fact I think you would be hard pressed to fins any engine 36 and under that could come close to the bottom of the mod Picco, even a OS 28 doesn't have as much raw bottom end

Maybe i should be a bit clearer on the dog part. I have sacrificed on acceleration for top speed, but even still it will wheelie in an XL. Piccos have a crazy power band. I just think it takes longer for the engine to get up to speed with the 18/47 combo. To me its slower than the 17/47 or the 17/52 combo even in top end. I am running a 3 speed but i think its honestly stuck in 3rd gear. You dont even hear it switch over once. Im running it on low pros and have managed to seperate the tire from the rim on all of them. I think that to could be my problem. It just spins the tires cause its not getting traction.

You might be right. i should just take it apart and clean it. Its a new 3 speed tho hmm.... whats the best cleaner, normally i use carb cleaner. I know its rought stuff but it cleans the hell out of anything. Plastic i dont use it on just metal.

one thing it may be is clutch.... what I found when we geared up the XL we found the clutches started to slip really bad, which in turn made the bottom end feel soggy...Once you gall a aluminum clutch it will absolutely kill the bottom end of the engine...A modded Picco and a 13 lb over geared truck usually is too much for most clutches to handle.....

Yes...but the clearance is tight and you will have to slightly widen the slots in the engine plate...........Now as we speak Mitch from M2C is making me a shallower flywheel that will have more clearance...but you will need to use the stock clutch nut..... The Lightweight M2C does fit, but its just a little snug...with an adjustable engine mount it fits right in with plenty of clearance....
