Default HELP I have fking had it with this engine

hey guys, so i have been in this damned hobby for less then a year now, and i know what im doing, i have a savage X and a tmaxx.

The ****ty 3.3 tmaxx engine i sol it cuz it was just too much to deal with so i bought a dynimight engine for it and i have had 0 and i mean 0 problems with tuning or running the engine and truck fires right up on the first roto start turn and tunes like a dream.

Now fast forward a lil to my savage X i got the bright idea to so call SEAL my engine and i did a big noob mistake by hammering the carb pin all the way out causing damage to the carb, i finnally bought few used engine with carbs for really cheap.

Now heres the problem i cant for the hell of me keep the truck on, fires right up and dies "and no the engine is not shot and it has tons of compression left in it" if i get it to stay on and it ideals good i cant get it to shift, i try to play with the HSL and the temp shoots over 250 with a ton of blue smoke coming out of it.

I tried to change the shifting time and still it wont shift it reves up to its peak and then stays there, I did get it to shift once yesturday and i havent seen it shift since also when its running and i take my finger off the throttel it keeps humming then it ideals.

Can some one help me please, i have 2 engines for this thing and a brand new engine thats sitting in a box, both the used engines have alot of compression left in them and i dont want to drop in the new engine in it HELPMEPLEASE

sounds like an airleak, and your carb is probably off on the needles.

why would you seal the engine? did you have problems, and figured sealing the engine would fix it? (rarely is the problem). go over the fuel system completely, check the lines , tank for crack's, also did you maybe lose one of the o-ring's off of the needles in the carb when you changed the carb body?

hey guys, so i have been in this damned hobby for less then a year now, and i know what I'm doing,

Seems to me if you rethink the above statement, and learn about the nitro engines, you may discover the solution. The attitude in your comments and verbiage leads me to think you are both frustrated and emotionally unstable.

Good luck

You have such an atttractive way with words, but sorry, sweet talking me will not drag the soilutions out. They do exist, but you are going to need to read and study, just like the rest of us.

Good luck, and remember this hobby is for fun.

The poor engine needs a good tune

Sealing the engine is actually very simple. Where the carb meets the motor is where you seal. Then where the back plate meets them motor is the other spot you seal. No need to take anything apart. I use Lucky 7 to seal my motors. It does sound like you have an air leak. Also like mentioned above check your fuel lines and tank. Something that most forget about is the glow plug. Often they will start the engine but once a little throttle is given they die. 250 temp is not bad when it gets above 275 then you need to richen it up. I keep my motors between 240-260 the sweet spot is 245ish. When then engine seems sluggish lean it out.

Remember even if the temp is high its ok if there is still visable smoke coming out the exhaust at full throttle.

used carb...could have debris trapped in the fuel passages....would make it impossible to tune..... I have to clean the carbs on our race engines all the time to keep thenm running in prime condition...

i messed up the engine the first time and now i wont make that mistake again lol. As for my tank its an alloy tank so im sure thats not leaking, fuel lines are brand new. I have always ran my engines between 200 and 220 and never had a prob with them.
