I am going to seal my engine. I have everything but nitro cleaner in a can. Is there something else such as mineral spirits that I can use to clean up everything while I have it apart?

For cleaning mine i use stuff called totally awesome get at dollar general or family dollar for 1 a bottle . work real good and cheap to. its in household cleaning supply department at the store.

Just about any solvent will work as long as it drys oil free. You can use brake cleaner too and it can be bought at any automotive store.

Any light alkane solvent should degrease the metal effectively without harming rubber or plastic components. Look for non-chlorinated brake cleaner products that list compounds like hexane or heptane on the label.

Perchloroethylene based brake cleaner will work as well, but be prepared to deal with one of the most nauseating odours you've ever experienced.

Supertech brake cleaner at walmart will do the trick for cheap

simple green, best stuff on earth, use it strait to degrease car engines, or dilute it down enough to clean glass.
