Savage Flux XS?
Anyone else seen that little teaser vid on HPI's site? Apparently the main and obvious difference from the HP would be water resistant electronics. Has anyone else been able to dig up any more info?

RE: Savage Flux XS?
apart from the fact its like 1/12 scale :P but it has a large brushless system in it and at 3s can take it to 60mph+ so its not slow. basically a competitor to the mini e-revo but a little bigger...

looks small to be 1/10...
looks small to be 1/10...
the tires IMO look too big for 1/16th like some think
But if some of the hobby places are right that its a late summer release, info on it is extremely tight lipped by HPI which is kinda not good IMO.
The specs should at least be available online for what its coming with.

In this respect I wish they were A LOT more like traxxas, who pretty much shoves their specs, ton's of pics, and videos down peoples throats months prior to a RC being sold. Where HPI its a mystery till the end

RE: Savage Flux XS?
Here is a link to some more info..
http://www.rc411.com/xrc-wp/2011/06/...avage-xs-flux/
From the press release: “The Savage XS Flux packs in everything you know and love about the neck snapping, standing backflip Savage Flux. A ridiculously powerful Flux brushless powerplant to provide you with the most menacing speed runs, legendary Savage durability that passes the bashing exam with flying colors, innovative TVP technology for a class leading design, and extreme monster truck appearance and ground clearance to conquer it all. Oh, did we mention that it fits in your backpack? That’s right, the compact Savage Flux XS goes where the standard size Savage can’t. At 2/3 the size of a standard Savage, the Savage XS Flux is the perfect size for backyard tracks.
WATERPROOF!
The Savage XS Flux has a waterproof receiver box to keep the 2.4GHz receiver protected from the elements for glitch-free operation. A new SF-10W waterproof steering servo and a waterproof VAPOR Pro electronic speed control mean your Savage XS Flux won’t be stopped by wet conditions.
BRUSHLESS POWER
With the capacity to handle 2S and 3S LiPo power, the Flux VAPOR Pro electronic speed control can take anything you can possibly throw at it and keep coming back for more! The Flux VEKTOR 4000 motor delivers massive power – plenty of juice for instant wheelies and standing backflips! Both are Powered by Castle!
2.4GHz EQUIPPED!
Controlling the Savage XS Flux is easy with the HPI TF-40 2.4GHz radio system. No need to worry about changing crystals, the radio prevents frequency conflicts automatically. The TF-40 pistol grip transmitter features adjustments for steering trim, throttle trim, steering dual rate, end points, servo reversing switches, low battery indicator, and a 3rd channel for optional accessories. The 3 channel receiver is equipped with a failsafe system for maximum safety.
BULLETPROOF DRIVETRAIN
The Savage XS Flux features all-metal transmission gears to make sure that power delivery is uninterrupted and every jolt of power gets from the motor to the tires efficiently and with no worry of damage to the gears. The whole drivetrain runs on ball bearings for optimal efficiency, extra-long runtimes and mega-fast top speeds!

I'm torn
kinda want the mini flux, I also kinda want to make my 1/8th flux into a 1/5th with the TCS kit, and I kinda want a SCX10...
Too bad I can choose 1 only decisions decisions....
I got so many 1/10th MTs though it might not get much use if I get it...

ok, i know you are trying to make some kind of statement, or are trying to be different, or are just pure lazy, or *cough* YOU ARE JUST TRYING TO GET ON PEOPLE'S NERVES AND GET A KICK OUT OF IT (trolling) *cough*
in all seriousness, people wouldn't mind your "style" if you just dialed it down a bit. you have lost all respect from just about everyone that has to read your posts and i can promise that you will not be taken seriously if you are going to be typing like that.
back on topic...
you likely either had bad wheel nuts (my savage x 4.6 had 2) or you were not tightening the wheel nuts down enough. i used to run 6s in my flux all the time on the stock wheels and only partially stripped a hex when the wheel nut came loose.
i can't wait for the mini flux to come out. does anybody know any release dates or maybe a time range that it is supposed to start shipping?
also, i noticed that according to HPI's website, the mini flux will have the same diffs that are in the hpi bullet fluxs, and the lightning gt 1/10 from hotbodies. i have seen a lot of complaints of weak diffs from the hpi bullets. hopefully, they will at least have a better diff housing in the savage, or i see diff problems in the future. if the diffs are bad, then i hope they do the same thing they did with the full size flux and release better diff gears.
