Whats wrong??
Ihave been noticing something lately with my savage 4.6. I do believe its half a tank lean but Ithought Iwould ask you guys and see what you think. Iget the truck running and tuned in and after a while after a full throttle run or holding at half throttle to long Iget really high rpms before it goes back down to idle. Is this HTL ? If so Iwas wondering is there a easier way to cure it other than the mid tank mod? Iknow this has probably been asked before but Icouldnt really get a good answer on it reading back in the forums. Any help would be appreciated

RE: Whats wrong??
Yes, if the engine is runnning a bit lean at WOT (lean HSN), the idle can hang high for a few seconds until the LSN metering fully takes over the fuel/air mixture. The idle will eventually drop to normal when this happens.
If this doesn't happen until the fuel level in the tank drops, then you have a HTL problem. If it's minor, then you can get away with richening the HSN a bit and your engine will run a bit rich with a full tank of fuel and performance will improve as the tank empties.
Or you can try a different tank.
Another alternative to cure HTL is here:

RE: Whats wrong??
Iwill try that messing with the HSNwhen Iget it up and running again. hopefully it fixes the problem Ithought Iwas getting lucky not having a HTL problem but it looks like it might have finally showed up.
