Default Traxxas Stampede 4x4 vxl or HPI Savalge flux 2350?

I currently own a redcat caldera 10e and run it on a 5800 2 cell. Looking to get another truck and really want something that I can play with 24/7 sun, rain, mud...whatever. The new stampede has caught my eye any everyone says how badass and durable it is. Every vidI see this thing looks like a beast and it can be had for $380. But I already have a 1/10 scale in theCaldera and though its a good size it might be coolto have something bigger. But I really also LOVE thenew savage flux 2350 but its alittle more costly at $500 and doesnt even include a battery. I have batteries so that really doesnt matter. I like how the savage looks and how big it is but is it as durable as the pede and can the savage be driven in muddy rain conditions? I lay in bed at night and Im just torn. LOL

savage's electronics are not waterproof if that is what you are wondering.
Also the batteries you have might not be up to par for it seeing you need pretty high C-rated, and pretty high mAh rated batteries so they are not over taxed.

So if you want a RC to drive in the rain you might want the pede.
If you want a RC that can go flying off ramps to some insane heights, and can take a royal beating, and keep driving get the savage.

Thanks for the reply. The batterys I would use are 5000 2cell 40c lipos. Im pretty sure those would be excellent for savage right?

Go with the Savage. You will not be disappointed with the Savage.

Here is the Savage XS next to a Savage Flux

savage flux is the way i would go plus the twin plate is so much more ergnomic design in which repairs and upgrades are easier and traxxas stampedes have issues with there front frame breaking

I have both and they are in two different leagues. I would not even compare the two. The only thing they share is that they are both off road rc trucks. Thats about it imo. The Savage is a totally different beast. If you bought the 4x4 Pede and someone let you try their Savage you would probably shoot yourself for not getting it.

Go for the Savage Flux and dont look back. To this day i have not driven a better, funner RC monster truck (with a few hop-ups that is) ...

yes the savage is 10 times the vehicle a stampede is. my friend bought a new stampede the 4x4 version. he absolutely hates it, everytime we go out it breaks.

I agree with what everyone says. Plus 1/8 is a lot more fun than 1/10! The Stampede 4x4 VXL is waaaay overpriced for what you're getting.

The Savage 2350 is so much stronger in every category than the Stampede 4x4 not to mention it's COG is lower so handling is much easier and predictable....just think about it. Why does Traxxas have so many upgrade parts for the Stampede 4x4 and so many aftermarket companies as well such as MIP, RPM, and FLM.

If you look on YouTube check out Jang's review on URC (Ultimate RC) on the Stampede 4x4. The first thing I'd do if I was dead set on the Stamede 4x4 is to swap out all the A arms to RPM's....then upgrade all the drive shafts from Traxxas' damn plastic shafts to MIPs. With all that said and done you've already paid more than a Savage 2350.

Why not just waterproof the savage then you have something more durable than the stampede and ten times stronger. Also the savage xs is waterproof dont know if thats one of your deciding factors but it is also a fun little mini. I own the XS flux and the hp flux trust me you wont be dissapointed.

Thats true if you pay the hobby shop price of $430 for a stampede. I picked up a slighty used stampede 4x4 for $300 because I wanted all the waterproof stuff. I got mip rear shafts coming and prolly gonna thrown on a cooling fan. Thats only $370 I have invested in it now. Flux 2350 is still $530 and thats cheapest ebay price. But IM still gonna get a 2350!!! Nothing wrong with having both right?? LOL And if the 2350 is thattttt much better I might just sell stampede. But I might keep it for insane long jumps and bashing since its lighter.

Here is a video I did of my 10yr old son driving my Flux HP. I slowed the video down to half speed so people could see the bashing that it takes and keeps on going. Since I bought it 4 years ago I have only broken one front arm and the rear uprights about 12 times.

If you get the savage Iwould go for the flux hp over the 2350 roughly about 100 bucks more and so much fun. Im not a big traxxas fan but to each is own, there aent nothing wrong with more than having more than one. Ibought a redcat earthquake 3.0 (big mistake) 1 month late Ibought a savage 4.6 this last christmas Igot a flux xs for christmas which convinced me to buy the flux hp, and Im sure that wont be the last one.

These two trucks aren't even in the same ballpark. One is a smaller 1/10th scale and runs on 1 battery, one is a true 1/8th and runs on 2 batteries.

For a 1/10 the stampede 4x4 is a very capable fun truck, it definitely needs some upgrades, but then again, what RC doesn't?
The 1/8th Savage is a larger heavier duty truck. It can handle larger terrain and jumps, etc.

Between the two i would pick the savage hands down, like I said its not even a fair comparison. Its Bigger, Badder, Tougher, and just all around stronger well put together truck.
