Default Savage Flux 2350 Connector issues deans vs 4mm bullet.

Hi guys, irecently bought a savage flux 2350 2.4ghz rtr and i just realised that it has deans connectors. The batteries that i bought are 4 turnigy nano tech 2s 35-70c 4000mah 4.0 batteries and they have 4mm bullet connectors. I am bummed ;( i cant drive my flux until i fix this problem. What do i need to do or buy to make this work out. Here are the batteries. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...arehouse_.html Thanks guys! Any help would be appreciated!

Go to your LHS and buy a package of female deans plugs and replace the plugs on the battery with the female deans.

Have fun soldering anything to the wires on those packs, its 8ga wire.

If you have a large enough soldering iron it's easy,

I bought a cheap Chinese 200w soldering iron from eBay and had no issues soldering 8awg to my esc wires,

Trying to solder with a smaller soldering iron is a waste of time for this size wire.

Do you think if i gave my truck and batteries to a LHS and told them to solder the batteries for money. Would they do it?

My LHS will do it but they charge you for the plugs and their time.

Most hobby stores will have this service, but they will charge you for it,

As t9dragon says,

I preferr to do these things myself.

I think that unexperianced people shouldn't mess with the LIPO batteries(explosive). Also you don't want to mess with the esc if it is under warranty and or you would have to change the connectors on every battery.
Just make an adapter from the deans to a 4.0 bullet connector. Thats what I did.

In the long run that adapter is going to cause you more issues than just changing the plugs on the batteries to match the esc. And Lipo batteries will only exploded if they are mis-used.

I solder all the time but all I was trying to say is if someone inexperienced tried to do it, it could be a disaster. Like shorting out the battery wires on accident for example. With an adapter both types of battery connectors can be used. As I am sure more batteries will be purchased in the future.
My origional savage still has this adapter on it without any problems. Though I suggest putting 1/2" shrinktubing over the deans during heavy bashing.

I have soldered deans to all of the batteries with a 80watt canadian tire solder and it works perfect, then i used electrical tape around the place where i soldered while it was still warm and it works perfect now
