Need a new savage engine. Which one?
Hello,
I am getting my dads old savage running and was taking apart the engine and notice rust and low compression and not fuel pressure from the exhaust tube to tank; therefore it wont push fuel up to the carb. I looked on ebay and I am fin spending $125 on a new engine. The old one is a 3.5 and looking to get the ss k4.6. I am looking for a engine that will last long, not neccisarily power, just duribility.
What engine do you have and what one would you recommend?
Probably will get new tubes. What solution would you use to clean a tank?
Thanks guys! The dog loves this thing, good exersize

I recommend the Dynamite Big Red 28.. Really like mine.. Good value for money. And will be far more powerful than what was in it before. User-friendly, cheap, will work well with lots of pipes and plugs and fuels, sorted...

+1 that engine is a beast. should make a savage wheelie like crazy. the k4.6 is a ripper to, had one the hellfire. the thing i like about big red is only two needles. the k4.6 has a midrange. just alot easier to tune 2 needles instead of 3 fo me anyway. should be happy(ether) way. i know i spelled that wrong. brain fart

I bought a Losi Mach 427 (teal head)and Its amazing, so much power it'll do a back flip. Also blew both my diffs in my savage from the power, but my savage was a 25 so it had weaker diffs. Replaced the rear diff with a flux diff, still need to buy another for the front.
