Default Identifying motor

Hey, I have an hpi motor that is on my tmaxx. What model is it? Is it any good? worth buying gasket kit to get running again? How does it compare to say the traxxas pro .15 motor? Thanks.

It's an HPI Nitro Star. A low power RTR engine. As to displacement, measure the bore and stroke. Is it worth fixing? Hardly. Better engines can be had cheaper than fixing a mediocre beat up half assembled engine.

Just being honest and realistic.

That looks like a Nitro Star .18, but I can't be certain. Either way, it's a much better engine IMO than the T-Maxx's factory .15. HPI RTR engines are reliable for what they are, if you keep it tuned right you wont have many problems

Edit: Could be an old HPI .21, from the original Savage line. Hard to tell by that cooling head.
