Default This Sound Good For A Noob?

Put this together from towerhobbies.com

HPI Savage SS kit (.25 included)

Futaba 2PHKA 2-Channel AM/1 S3003 Servo 61 (gunna use this servo for motor)

Hobbico CS-65 Servo High-Torque Standard 2BB U (for steering)

all this for $437 from the tower.
I know this aint your super racer setup but I dont wanna spend more than 450 total other than a nitro starter kit and some fuel.
Will this get me moving??? just gunna mess around on my 10 acres no racing.

let me know what you think, just dont diss my lack of brains on this subject.

I would go with a 3 channel radio.. just in case you ever want to throw reverse in or find some other creative use for the 3rd channel. Other than that I dont think you can go wrong with a SS.

Darn, you beat me to the response. I agree, go with a 3 channel radio. In fact, you can get more radio for the same money by going to a non-Futaba brand such as Hitech. You may also want to consider getting a 3 channel FM transmitter instead of an AM transmitter/rcvr system.

i think your set up is just fine. if you can afford the tab, go with a 3 channel, of not - at the very least, get FM - it is almost manditory.

Here are some cheap FM 2 channel radios:

on a savage, the hi torque servo for braking helps but isnt manditory. A stock servo will be fine for now.

Money is tight right now so it sounds like I'm just going to get the SS kit and put it together in my free time and buy items as money allows, sounds like it might take me a while to put it together anyway so it will just b a work in progress and this way I'll be able to buy some nicer parts as the time/money allows. I truly appreciate the help and I'll post pics when I get it done.

Anyways its 10 degrees outside and there is 3 and a half feet of snow so I don't really want to be out in that anyways

And im shur this isnt the last youll hear from me [>:]

From what I've read the SS has stronger parts.

And I want to build it anyways
