Default spur gear bad already??

i ust put a brand new spur gear in my truck and look at it already. help me.

you might have put it on too tight, or maybe your engine is too powerful. might wanna look into a steel spur gear.

i put it on alittle tighter than before because it was sliping way to much.

Tighten it all the way down. If you go to www.savage-central.com and read up on what people are doing with thier bigger engines, you will see that guys using Wasp's and Picco's are doing this. With the Sirio I think it is a V.good idea.

the picture you posted? that dosnt look like mine, mine the teeth are all chewed up and melted. did my engine move?

i run the picco 26 which makes pretty strong power, running the stock 52 or 49 tooth gear and tighten them all the way down and then off 1/4 turn, and have had no problems. also make sure you are using a friction pad on the spur. one more thing..... your slipper spring may be weak, consider replacing it with that big engineif you have any amount of run time on it. backing it off a 1/4 turn is important though for the harder landings on power to keep some of the stress off you transmission and related components.

Is it the Steel spur gear that u melt??????

nope. it was the plastic. this is an old post. i have the RR set now and it works perfectly fine. no more melting!

this post goes back to 3/20

is there a pad behind the spur gear like the one in plastic?

no it doesnt come with one. you have to get one. i tightened mine all the way down.

My Kong's kept Eating stock Gears. Replaced with RR Steel, Much better, Gear looks like it wobbles alittle but it seems to drive fine with it.
