nova cooling head and engine mount
has anyone had any experience with nova cooling heads and nova cooling engine mounts? do they make a difference? is there a point in getting both, or should I just get the head?

RE: nova cooling head and engine mount
I have the head and i like it a lot. It makes the engine run slightly cooler, it also means that the engine stays about the same temperature for most of the time its running.
It also looks amazing, and because it is slightly taller than the stock one, this means that to the uneducated eye it looks like you have one huge engine
Hope this helps

I have heard, that the engine mounts are good, but from what I have read on Savage-central, it is not worth the money to buy both, as they will cool the engine too much together.
Just an opinion.

Jwan,
Oh yea i suppose they do as i can hammer the engine for ages and the temps never go above 250f bearing in mind it is spring here so outside temps are 7-12C but ill have to wait till the summer kicks in and then ill have a more informed opinion on your question but i realy like anything Nova do the quality is brilliant. I ahve also got a set of there clutch shoes in my mgt as i have got the hotbodies UFO wheels on it as anything else just looks stupid on there.

Cool sounds great! I might get both then. I have read on another forum that some people think the mount is sham because you don't really get much air flow on the mount and that you can actually cool the bottom of your engine too much (???). Any thoughts?
lol more importantly... since I'll be getting the head regardless, does the nova head come with an 'underhead' as well. The underhead is the part that goes over the piston and where the glow plug screws into... I stripped mine a couple of weeks ago...
I'm going cold turkey here!!

No its doesnt come with the under plate so you will have to get one from your local hobby store but get the nova cooling head and engine mount you will not be disapointed at all they are bling and work very well. All this about your engine runnning to cool is poop as oil at higher temps becomes thinner and the thinner it gets the less of lubricant a it becomes so as long as you can keeep the temps around 200-290f range you are going to be fine and your engine willl last better.
All the best

RE: nova cooling head and engine mount
I got the nova head and cooling mount a while ago now, its great, really lowered the temps, in fact sometimes I'm worried they're too low.
I realised too late though that i should have got the one for the s-25 and ordered a new head button for the 21, that way it might have been possible for me to use the nova head on a new engine (when that eventually happens), and also, cos the head button is built in to the 21 nova head, if I strip it again, I'll need a whole new head...

RE: nova cooling head and engine mount
they should have made this heads compatible to all engines like all big block heads will fit any big block engine that way if my engine dies i can use it on my other engines
