I bought a Savage SS a couple weeks ago.. Except for the wheels and tires it is 100% stock and it will easily wheelie on pavement and grass. Good stuff.

The air filter is huge. I think it's the size of the cooling head that makes it appear small.

I believe you just have to use the bearing from the .25 pull start, then it should work on the wasp .28, at least thats what i hear.

The current state and shape of things:

MANY moons ago it was a Sav21... here's the current state:

SH28 .28 engine
Motorsaver filter
HPI Ribbed pipe
HB Heat-sink engine plate
Mugen aluminum 3-shoe clutch
Hi-tec 645 MG steering servo
OFNA micro failsafe
40 series wheels and BigJoe tires
Aluminum upper A arms
Aluminum lower A arms
Improved second-gear mechanism
OFNA fuel tank and New-Era tank mount
Rechargeable hump-pack battery
25 rtr shocks
Hardened dog bones all-the-way around
BB servo saver
Integy skid-plate (the only decent thing Integy makes)

----probably a few other things I'll think of later...
