Sox & martin
SOX & MARTIN !!!!!!!!! All you people that were around back in the 70s will remember that this was the team to beat. They ran in Stock, Super Stock, Pro Stock and I think they were starting to give Funny Car a shot in the early days of the class. (might have been AFX) In any event, being a died in the wool Drag Racing fan, I thought I'd try to build a " what if they ran a Monster Truck today" tribute. This truck was for a Nitro, so I cut some lexan, shot it with the carbon fiber technique and covered it up. I used my vinyl cutter to make the Sox & Martin and other stickers and I printed the Sponsor decals on an ink jet printer on clear sticker paper

Heres my savage I've been building back to a drivable state. It was absolutely run hard & put away dirty by the previous owner. The piston was cracked & it was incredibly dirty in every nook & cranny. Needed new servo's and had mis matched tires/wheels. I got all new metal gear waterproof servo's a 2.4 spektrum radio new piston/sleeve new diff gears for the rear, proline badlands on traxxas white dish's shock towers, 8 new shocks, the list goes on and on. Its ready to run now (i hope) just waiting for a day to get to the LHS for some nitro to start break in.

My Savage XS...contemplated for a while about the Bullet MT, but ultimately decided the smaller size would suit me a bit better. I'm coming from a 1/16 E-Revo VXL and this XS just is in another class. Makes me want to even go bigger now. Ugh. This hobby.
I rarely if ever post, but just thought I'd share my newest acquisition. I love this truck. The only modification is obviously wheels and tires...as the originals are garbage basically. HPI Geolandar tires on HPI Mesh wheels.

My Octane just after the first 2 tanks on the rebuild. Had about 15-20 tanks on the original engine, and the little clip that holds the wrist pin let go and made a bunch of shavings for me. Let's see this time around.
