black tarnishing on plug and piston head
does anyone know if its normal during the break in period(i have 4 tanks of fuel burned) that the base of the glow plug and the piston has turned black in colour? the engine seems to be performing fine.

It is normal for the plug... What type fuel you use can discolor the piston and chamber, because there is dye in the oil. O'donnel and White lightening are the two cleanest that I know of.

either rich or lean fuel mixture will cause this.as you are runnning too rich,the fuel is not completely burned and cannot be pushed out from the exhaust by the next strock.as we all know that accumulating unburned fuel inside engine will casue carbide on the piston. and as running too lean,too high a tem will burn the fuel thoroughly even the lubricant is burned out and turned into carbide.i was running tornado 25% and the piston was nicely golden,but it was brown soon after i shifted to byron 10%(tornado out of stock).fuel is important.
