Default 13t Clutch Bell + 52t Spur gear

If I have a 13t Clutch bell with a a 52t Spur Gear in my Savage SS, is this gonna cause problems? I know the torque is gonna be crazy, but is it gonna strip the gears immediately? Thanks for the advice.

I assume you have the stock S25 engine. You will be fine. The biggest thing to remember is proper c/b and spur gear mesh and proper adjustment of the slipper clutch assembly. BTW, you should be prepared for the power wheelies when you stomp on it. I am running the + 1" HB chassis and the Picco .26 with 14/49, tried to go 14/52 but the engine mount would not allow it. With my current gearing, chassis and large wheels it is all about squat and trott. No wheelies for me. Let us know how you like it.

Aloha

if youve done the break in you should get all your low end. the 13t will lose much top end. but they accel fast!

Since you have gone down in teeth on your clutchbell you will have to adjust your 2nd gear shift point. It will come MUCH later (perhaps not at all) with a 13t than a 15t...

I've never had to adjust my tranny for a cb change when going up or down and my shifts are always smooth and seamless.

Counter-clockwise for earlier shifting. The manual will have you make too big of an adjustment also. Wait until the truck has warmed up, then make your adjustments in sixteenths (1/16) of a turn at a time.

I didn't say it would affect those things that you mentioned...

If you go from a 15tooth stock Sav25 tot he 18tooth it will shift (once warm) almost right off of the line, many times creating the illusion of "starting in second gear" or "hung in 2nd gear".

Once you have it shifting at a good level 3/4s of the RPM band when warm and with an 18tooth CB, now returning to your 15tooth it won't shift unless 1. It was rich and set incorrectly with the 18 2. you now run it MASSIVELY lean by comparison in order to get it there...

Sadly, my desires have no impact on physics.
