from what i have heard the wasp 28 was not so great(things that broke) i would go with the picco .26 or the xtm (personally i like the picco the most since it got all the power you need and it got more torque than the xtm

cooling head and crankshaft is a little different. why not get an xtm?? they are much more powerful, the picco is a ***** and a half to tune. anyways, stormerhobbies.com has the picco .26 for 159.99. i still think you should have gotten an xtm pro. or an xtm standard, the standard has more torque than you can believe.

Nah this is wrong. I read a long post from the manufacturer, as far as the 26s, except for appearance the Wasp26 and the Picco26 are EXACTLY the same. The internals can be swapped between them. I also know this to be, cuz a a bud of mine replaced his piston/sleeve with a Picco he got very cheaply at auction....

37000 r @ 2.75 picco or wasp
33000 r @ 2.75 xtm pro
29000 r @ 2.6 xtm reg
pick your poison.lol
stock .21bb was the most realiable engine i had in my savage..
never own picco or wasp...it going to be a wasp that's going in next.
some peaple have problems others don't.
i don't plan on using a roto...so the breakage of the oneway would
be minimize..
i have both .247 reg and pro..
the reg .247 has better lowend torque than the Pro.
never had tuning issues..
however both of these engine has the same prblems.
oneway bearing hub sits in the engine casing.
when that hub wears...it'll cuase major problems.
there a ridge the keeps the hub from hitting the Rod.
when the slot gets big enough...it'll start rubbing the rod.
you'll loose power at the very least..
you'll kill the engine at worst.lol
i've replaced these hub numerious times and they still wear.
it's a $18 part.
$5 everytime UFO in engine hits a glow plug
the other problem is...
the backplate is made of plastic..
there a bushing that the starting hex shaft slides into..
the bushing is pressed into the plate..
anywho....the plastic wear allowing the bushing
to rotate.
it'll slide out a little...it'll sieze the pullstater or starting mech.

Get the picco .26
Get the picco .26
whats up with that? you dont even have a reason! why should anyone listen to you?
sorry, its just that messages like this seem pointless because they dont really explain anything...
anyway, concerning my previous post, i found a link that explains that the Wasp .26, the Ofna Picco .26 outlaw, and the Werks P3 are all the same engine...

while the sirio .27 performs very well they have very very short engine life and cost $350 a piece. they only last half a race season. and picco is only 2.67hp. what the manufactor reccomends the power output as is greaty exagerated. i reccomend xtm pro.

According to my LHS, the sirio will last in a casually used bash truck. If you race it regularly, then yes he says, maybe half a season but it can be rebuilt for half of what it cost. Another customer he put me in touch with who has the sirio says his is over three gallons old and still strong and leaves the stock s-25 in the toy bin. I just picked one up off e-bay new for 3 bills and am waiting for shipment. I'll let you know how long it lasts.

RE: Wasp28 vs Wasp26 vs Picco vs XTM pro???
why have you counted out the wasp .28??
my .26 is great, in fact i have ordered a .28.
i find it funny that savage-norway says that he has heard of things braking on a .28 when it isn't even out yet.
maybe i'm wrong ,maybe some people do already have it. but even if they do it's far far to early to see a pattern of pros and cons.
i ordered mine soley on the experence i have had with my .26.
