I had the Ribbed pipe but didn't like the loudness... I now have the Hot Bodies Aluminum pipe (copy of THS Pipe) and I love It!! The same power only 10x's quieter. It's a "sleeper"

See I didn't think the HPI ribbed pipe was all that loud. However, I have a exhaust deflecter on my pipe so that may have some impact on it's sound/loudness. How much does the deflecter alter the sound of the pipe?

the deflector makes a respectable difference. I knocked mine off and immediately knew something was up. Luckily i didn't have to search far. I enjoy the (slightly) quieter sound w/the deflector installed, but to each his own.

Yeah, the stinger is part of the pipe. We were talking about the rubber exhaust deflecter that can be installed over the stinger to direct exhaust/mess away from the truck.

The Hot Bodies Aluminum Pipe performs EXACTLY the sampe as the HPI Ribbed pipe, which blows the stock composite pipe away. It is probably a little quieter than the composite also and doesn't have the cheap and choppy sound either. It is a great pipe, and is actually a copy of the more expensive THS Racing pipe.

YEs, It matters.... The polished pipe is modeled after the THS performance pipe, and the Black pipe is modeled to simply replace the stock pipe. It is a chambered pipe and the shape of the internal cone makes the difference.
