ORIGINAL: Nitro MT
What's going to be the advantage over the 2 speed. My guess would be more top end speed but anything else?

I seriously doubt I need it, but I'm more than willing to give it a go. Especially if its cheaper than a new engine Hopefully they'll double up on all the set pins & make sure there's enough loctite to go around.

Im not talking about a modification. Im talking about the actual 3 speed tranny that HPI is releasing soon for the truck. Its a direct drop in. The benefits would be better low end, better mid range, and top end. Basically, better overall gearing. I cant wait to get my hands on it.

Man oh man, that alone almost makes me want to get a new savage... That would make it SUCH a blast and WAY too fast for our own good...
With correct gearing, on demand wheelies AND 45-50MPH is possible, even with a tame motor. That is RIDICULOUS!!!
Too bad they don't wrap a new upgraded Savage .28 RTR around it. Can you imagine? Serious... That 3 speed is enough to make me get another Savage... The three speed in the Mad Force was SO fun, but the solid axle truck was pretty unforgiving jumping and at high speed. Take the great jumping and control of the Savage + the Mad Force 3 speed... Drooooooollll......
I am with you on this one...

I hope it fits in the stock tranny case. I just spent the money on the billet case and if this doesn't fit...oh hell, I'll get it anyway.

HPI told me today it's still in the testing phase. He also said they don't have a release date yet. When I asked about the magazine article he wasn't even aware of it. Maybe he just didn't know??
