RE: Wasp .28???
You can unscrew the glow plug a little to help ease compression when starting and it's a good idea with an engine with high compression will save your hands and pull starter.

RE: Wasp .28???
all the good engines are very close, my XTM pro was running almost even with a EB modded Sirio 27.....there is more to making a truck fast then just slapping in a motor, as the MT's likely have almost a 50% drivetrain poer loss, so having the whole truck in good order and everything well tuned will dom more then just slapping in a big motor....my buddies SH28 is a fair bit quicker then teh 24/7 pro, but both trucks are in great mechanical condition..one dragging baring or dirt in the wheels can make a giant difference on one of these trucks

Let the BS flow...
NO 24.7 IS PULLING THE FRONT WHEELS WITH 20/48 GEARING..... For that matter not even 18/49.

20/48 no chance, but mine pulled 18/49 without any problems running stock suspension and aluminum shoes...it would flip over no problems at all....but as soon as i put all red springs in it wouldn't wheely a 18/49 without ideal conditions... but 18/49 on stock suspension is no issue for the 24/7 pro...a 20/48 i highly doupt

BS on what??? a 24/7 pulling a wheelie with a 18/49??? are you that out of touch with the 24/7 pro??? or are one of those Pico lovers who thinks a 24/7 is only slightly better then a S-25??? 18/49 is no issue..hell even my buddies pico would flip a 18/49...and my XTM was faster then that particular Pico...anyways beleive what you want you obviously dont own a 24/7 nor have you seen one run...imagine a Pico 26 with better throttle control and a little more RPM and thats a 24/7 pro...anyways cheers

RE: Wasp .28???
I just broke in a wasp .28,,It kicks butt. A little too much, it's been devouring parts. So far I had to replace 2 dogbones, and both front and rear diffs, and front and center drives.
Do not drive this engine on pavement, track only.
I had the s25, seen both the 24.7 and the picco 26. (drove them). The 24.7 holds its own, plenty of torque, the 26 is a dream, but the wasp 28 is all I need.
At 37000 RPM it can comfortably unwind on any track depending on your gearing. The SH at 27000 RPM is a diff busting torque machine, but no useable upper powerband.
BTW I called orion and they have updated the midrange needle valve to "all the way closed"
VERY happy with my 159.99 investment

RE: Wasp .28???
I have the Lrp z.28R and wow does it have the power .. my set up is a 7inc wheels from a MGT 47spur and 18t bell on a sliding clutch .. was running it in and decided to power the engine up my front wheels were of the ground and when 2nd kicked in it flipped the car over !! the power of the lrp is bloody great
the wasp .28 is a nice engine i have seen it running but thats about the same power as my picco p3
Mark
ps my picco p3 will pull power wheelys with my dirtbonz / 18t/49t gear setup

RE: Wasp .28???
I just picked up the wasp .28 and I've almost finished the break in process and I really like the engine so far. I've haven't had any problems with it. Today I drove my truck and I slapped the 18t CB on and it still has enough power to pull wheelies. At this point I haven't tunned the engine for performance and I'm still impressed that it has enough power the pull the front wheels off the ground. I have the Hot Bodies extended chassis with the mid tank conversion and the engine still pulls the front in up. I must say, I'm very happy with this engine.

The SH's rated PEAK HP comes at 28000 (NOT PEAK RPM), and it pulls just as hard on the topside as my 27 (which is basically the same as the Wasp/Diab./Team Infinity28, just a VERY MINOR bore diff.. they share the same crank, rod, bearings, etc)...
The LRP Z28 and the SH28 are the same sans carb and head...
I have VIDEO posted here of the SH yanking the truck over with 18/49 gearing over and over, don't take my word for it go look at the videoS...

shengines.com
hobbypeople.net sells them and if you have about 3 weeks, engine_nut will have more at a MUCH better price.
