RE: removing tyres
I'm not sure where to find it, but, I have heard of de-bonder for CA glue. Check where they sell airplane stuff cause that's where your best bet is to find it.
Otherwise, I have heard of boiling the tires for 1-2 mins.

RE: removing tyres
I have heard of the boiling method but haven't tried it yet.
My stock HPI Savage 25 wheels/tires were getting pretty ebat up so i was going to remove the wheels since all the chrome was chipping off and dye them black.
I used the oven method and baked them, and they pealed right off. Didn't damage the tires any, however, I can't tell you about the wheels since my chrome was already chipped off, but it seemed like they were jsut fine as well.

RE: removing tyres
If you are trying to salvage the tyres, and you don't care about the rims, then boiling is an option. Boiling will damage shiney rims, but it will loosen the glue and not hurt the tyre. Boil for 10 mins. You need a large pot and something to weigh down the tyres/rims. Probably can do only 2 at a time this way.
If you want to get the tyres off AND SAVE THE RIMS FROM HARM, then heat an over up to 350 degree farenheit (slightly lower than the temp you would bake a chicken at) and place the tyres/rims on a sheet with WAX paper. This should not hurt the rims.
About 90% of the glue will soften, so have a blade ready to get some tough parts seperated.
(Boiling warning: water will get in the tyre. HOT..so watch out!)

The ingredient that breaks the bond is acetone. Home Depot sells straight acetone for $5 a quart, look for it in the paint section. I just fill a little squeeze bottle with it for more control over where it goes. Don't waste money on a little 2 oz bottle because the hobby shop re-labeled it.

RE: removing tyres
Don't get any acetone or mek on the wheel, because it will remove the chrome.
IMO, the easiest, safest, and most reliable way is baking them. Safest, meaning the wheels and tires do not get damaged.

RE: removing tyres
Hi,
I used the boil method to remove my tires from the rim. There is chrome stuck on the edges of the tyres from the rim. Should I use acetone on it or do I just leave that on?
Thanks
