Default savage 21 to 4.6?

Hello I have an option to buy a savage 21 for a pretty cheap. I was wondering if the parts are much different from the .25 and 4.6? Will the either engine fit into the .21? and are the truck a lot different? Thanks in advance. Sorry if this is an old subject.

The 4.6 has upgrades...like steering, brakes, bigger engine, extra pin in the transmission, etc. but is not different All parts are interchangeable between all Savages - .21, .25SS, .25RTR, 4.6SS. The engines are interchangeable. The .21 actually has stronger diffs...until the gears wear out.

I heard it was just the earlier savage 21s that had the stronger diffs and they later went to the cast diffs that were carried over to the savage 25. But yea, everything I've read says that all parts are interchangable between Savage models so if it's for a Savage it'll fit.

Never had a T-maxx, and the new SS is my first nitro so I can't really say except that sofar I've not had any trouble with my Savage.

I have a Savage and not a T-maxx, so I am biased, but I do recommend a savage...especially if you can get one fairly cheap (Always a bonus!). The aftermarket for a Savage is HUGE! You can't really go wrong for a basher.

WELL I'M TRYING TO FIND A 4.6 MOTOR TO REPLACE MY 2.5. THE 4.6 GOES A LOT FASTER AND HAS MORE TORQUE, BUT IT DOESNT MATTER IF YOU CANNT CONTROL IT.

BA - unless you have a T-maxx or Revo, you don't have a 2.5... you have a .25. The 2.5 is the .15ci Traxxas engine.

You can control any amount of power. You simply need to have some self restraint. Think of a crotch rocket like a CBR1100XX (My favorite) - Top speed over 180 in stock form. 0-60 under 3 seconds - but will flip you on your back...if you don't exercise some self restraint with your right hand.
