how do dual exaust's do?
Hi
I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with using dual exhausts with a Savage? I'm looking at getting one of these (http://www.rcuniverse.com/market/item.cfm?itemid=89211) cause I think it would look awesome with my peterbuilt body. Just wondering if Im going to lose any performance, if they work well with roto starts, or any other information anyone can tell of.
Thanks in advance!
Chris

I would say that you would take a serious performane and/or tuning hit. Vitrually anyone can design an exhaust out of various tubing, and just losing the basic pipe that comes with any engine = trouble.
Tuning is a science. Homemade dua pipes and such are mere novelties.
And let's not even discuss roll overs, etc.

IMO, stay away from those home made pipes people are selling here and on ebay. A 2-cycle engine, whether it be a rc truck or a dirt bike, needs a expansion chamber exhaust specifically tuned in volume and shape to produce maximum power when it's "on the pipe". Those copper pipe duals aren't going to that for you. I think you would take a noticable power hit for sure.

A guy I know made a dual pipe that increased the trucks power, but he makes pipes for full size trucks for a living so he may not count.

If you are talking about the ones on ebay made from copper fittings they are nothing more then JUNK! If a person makes exhaust for a real full size truck there is a BIG difference between them and making an exhaust for a 2 cycle!
