A 17 seems perfect for bashing... guess you'll have to run the 18 that you have. Throw the 14 and 15 out, don't even think about them. I hope you tossed out that POS plastic clutch with the old engine

heh, go on and run it at 15/52 so you can see for yourself why it needs to be bigger. If you don't want to destroy the body/engine head, keep it on grass. [8D]

18/47 Here. Still wheelies all over the place. Acceleration is super strong and top end is sweet!

What method are you using? The paper way or the "feel" way? I got this neat little piece of paper with one of the accessories I got that is the perfect width. I have never broken I spur gear after that. Still have the stock one even with an SH in it. Paper is the best way to go.

Hello IEG this paper method does the paper have to be the same width as the gear?

I strip spur gears every 3 or 4 tanks and ive used the feel and paper method, my other half has the SS and is still only stripped once.... Ive just been informed that my engine could be running way to hot and softing the plastic that the spur gear is made of, can the actually happen? Anyone ever heard of it happening???????????????

I have had clutches that slip too much cause the bell to get too hot. When it sits for a few, the spur's teeth get soft. The next blip of the throttle eats the gear. Bad bearings can also lead to this. The stock composite clutch will slip like mad with a bigger than stock engine and the 18tooth bell.

This fits fine. The 18/52 above will not fit. Like I said, the 18/47 works good. If you want to reduce wheelies, remove the shock spacers. If that doesn't reduce them enough, switch to a lighter shock oil. Another then that seems to help is to remove the front spacers and put them on the back.

My favorite option: get a wheelie bar and enjoy them!
