Default hpi savage 1/7 scale truggy pics

Well I took an xtm XLB 1/7 scale buggy and removed the front and rear suspension which dont handle worth a darn and put savage suspension on it.It worked out great, but I cant get any traction what so ever. This thing just BURNS the tires on dirt or asphalt.Power plant is an O.S .28..One of the best running engines I've ever had.Now it has great suspension travel and is very durable.but since I cant get traction I am all over the place

I am not a big fan of car style bodies on trucks but yours is nicely done. I didnt know OS made a .28 engine for cars/trucks.

As far as traction what did you use for diff fluid? What kind of tires? How stiff are the springs?

Engine make was a typo on my part...It has a SH.28....Tires are traxxas sportmaxx's ....I tried 40 series tires on it to try and tame it down, but will need a better servo to use those. It is crazy fast without a doubt.

I also tried putting different springs on the shocks and lowering it down. That helped, but it will just smoke all 4 tires off like nothing. It acts like it wants some diferent gearing, but I have not tried that yet..It has been together for just a couple of days...

Scales are so irrevelant, in actuality the Savage is no where near 1/8th the scale of a real monster truck. More like 1/16th.

increase the size of the tyres and that will reduce torque slip. Then let it go mad....

Yea they will bend, but I wont be bashing with them.I was just tring to see if the little extra weight was going to help. The problem is this thing only weighs 9 1/2 pounds..Thats very light for a truck this big.Thats why I am adding weight.....I was hoping to run this when the snow hits the ground. But I think traction is going to be a problem..
