RE: Anyone Own a Savage X?
I don't have my X here, but I don't think so, I guess what I could do is not cut out all of it, this way it will leave some pieces near the lengthwise ends of the compartment for more support. If I recall, the plastic was pretty thick.

Has anyone had experience with Godlen Horizons tvp's? I need new tvp's as I have pushed my truck to the limits and broke the x at the back of the tvp and it is bent everywhere. Last time I hit huge jumps just drains my pocket book.

Yeah Im not going to be doing anything crazy anymore just small jumping and what not. When you hit it off huge jumps it pretty much like taking a sledge hammer to it. I broke my gas tank getting an Ofna one on Friday and Im going to mod it to my truck

Its the only tank gaurd I've seen that actually stops the shocks from hitting the tank.

my truckzilla extended chassis moves the shocks away from the tank like 1.2 inches....... I'd think doing the type of jumps I do, I'd crush the aluminum guard into the side of the tank....

RE: Anyone Own a Savage X?
i was very happy yesterday to know that i have someone to compete with my stock savage x. the guy next to my apartment got a tmaxx and we dragg raced yesterday. i was very happy i was 2 feet ahead all the way. but it was a short time because his tmaxx broke. i'm glad i have a savage x. but today i cleaned and lubed my savy and test drive it so i could have a good tune once he fixed his tmaxx. but to my surprise after having a couple of good jumps and wellies. it was only the front wheel that is running (turning). why is that? is it my diff? haven't opened it yet. i have 3 gallons on it already is it the average lifespan of the savage x diff?

The stock would have done me good but I was getting to crazy trying to do triple backflips.
TIP: If you are crazy and trying to do crazy backflips take the roll cage thing off it will hit you head and bend fins if you land on the lid

OK, this is obvious, but I probably wouldn't have thought of it, did you check to see if the dogbone popped out? That sometimes happens to me. Also, it could be that the screw that holds the drive cup onto the tranny could have come out (happened twice to me), or the screw that holds the drive cup to the diff (once). Hope this helps!

the set screw in my rear drive cup on the tranny flew out today. that might be your problem also. i just finished tearing my truck down, now everything that screws in is loctited.......well everything that needed loctite.

I have gone through two standard TVP's so I purchased the racing low CG TVP's from HPI part #87248 . This have lower the engine by a further 7mm and can still be used with the standard roto start plate. The performance has a huge improvement.

RE: Anyone Own a Savage X?
Fastlane tvps are sweet. The low CG ones I got made a huge difference in turns. It also came with a beefier engine mounting plate 3mm I think. The only problem wich isnt really a problem was that I had to grind some of the tvp to get the engine over far enough to get my mesh correct. I love em made a 600 dollar hop up order today

hadn't opened it yet. but it's like this. if i pick up my truck off the ground the four wheels spun. but back to the ground only the front. also if i turn one of the rear wheel the opposite side turns the other direction same as the front. the only difference is when it's on the ground. is it the diff? i like to open it with a spare that is at hand.

RE: Anyone Own a Savage X?
theddy sounds like the 43t and 13t bevel gears in the diff case ..... prolly blew out the bearing that sets in the bulkhead case which lets the gears bounce around freely!!!
