nitrostar 25 high rev starting problem
I finally was able to run my savage due to problems (spur gear) and I thought I meshed it correctly O.o. I started the savage with no problem. Then it gave this really, really high rev sound and I couldn't stop the truck without using the breaks.
I held on the breaks while I looked for a screw driver then I looked at it.. The engine looked like it was smoking! So I stopped the truck and it turns out the brand new spur gear's teeth close to the clutch bell melted O.o
Anyone know the cause of this before I attempt to start it again? Thanks

Your mesh probably isnt right if they are melting right away.
Make sure the engine and spur are perpendicular to each other too. If the teeth are melting only on one side then the engine cant be perpendicular to the spur.

RE: nitrostar 25 high rev starting problem
hrm.. not sure about the perpendicular arangement.
The truck should move back and forth freely when I mesh the gears, right?
When I did it, I was only able to move it forwards (the spur gear didn't move) and backwards seemed like it hit the breaks (don't have reverse). I guess my meshing was the source of that problem..
Now the insane amount of rpms I received is the next problem... why did it do this? Is it my idle?
