Default spur gear ?

i striped a couple of teeth off my savy about 2 weeks of owning it . hpi customer service was awesome & sent me 3 out w/ in a week free of charge . tonight i just noticed that the three they sent me was 49t & what came on the truck was 47t . my question is what will be the difference in the 2 ? did i come out to the good w/ the 49 instead of the 47 ?

I had the same thing happen to me and i bought 2 49t cause thats what they had and i like them. You wouldnt really notice the difference between the 2 anyways and the 49t is all i use now. I have gone thru 4 of them already. Just make sure your mesh is good and you shouldnt go thru anymore really.

47 tooth is a higher speed gear =slower acceleration...faster top end.
49 is a middle gear
52 is a low end gear = super fast acceleration...low top end.

hey guys, i tried the 52t spur because i broke a few teeth off my stock 47t. when installing the 52t i untightened the engine and slid the entire thing over so that it would fit. even though the enginr was all the way over the mesh was still really tight. i ended up taking it off and getting another 47t . what did i do wrong????

oh ok so just to be clear i cant run the 52t with the stock cb. if that is the case then what size cb and are the hard to install. i will probably have to take the engine all the way off to but a smaller cb on there.
