Setting a trany shift points with a drill?
I think a couple months ago I read somewhere that you can set your trany shift points with a drill. This would be very useful for us 3-speed owners and I was wondering if anyone here had heard of this?

Whatever you're smoking, give me some
Seriously, though, what I think you read is that somebody drilled an extra hole in their transmission case for adjusting 3rd gear, not using a drill to adjust the shift points themselves.

I am assuming that you use the drill to turn the input shaft/spur shaft and use that to turn the spur...
atho this will work in teory you would need a high speed drill to do it and even still your motor wont have the same tourq as a drill and the shifting will be diffrent under load.
altho this seems as a neat idea and something you can do on your work bench I see it as impractical.

The shift points would be much different under the trucks own power and weight than if you turned the works with a drill on a bench.

you need to know the ratio's in the trans and when you want it to shift...you can hook your clutch to a dremel and get a shift point off that... i've done it on mine....
