Savage 21 Roto start
I've just bought a used Savage 21 and its fitted with a Roto start backplate ,I have the shaft but not the starter so I was gonna use a cordless drill but can anyone tell me if it should go clockwise or anti clockwise

im sure it is clockwise, i have a pullstart version and when i pull it the flywheel turns clockwise (standing behind the truck) if you turn it the wrong way the One way bearing will not engage so even if you have got the wrong direction no damage will be done

Hey foamy have you ever opened a roto back plate? There are two gears in there so making the first one turn counter-clockwise will make the second turn clockwise therefore making the flywheel turn clockwise...
