Default newbie question bout idling

Just got my savage 25 and went thru my first tank... [sm=teeth_smile.gif]
followed the manual and everything I think went ok.

The question I had tho was at idle I was having a hard time playin with the throttle servo to keep it idling with not having the wheels turning. I did have it on a box and when I put it on the ground it didn't move but would rock back and forth cuz the wheels were moving a tiny bit.

Wondering if this a good thing? as I didn't wanna touch the HSN and LSN till after the first few tanks.
Also should it sound smooth when idling? [sm=72_72.gif]

The wheels are meant to move. When I broke in my X, the wheels were spinning quite fast. In the vidoes they say a HIGH IDLE.

I think it is normal that the wheels move back and forth, as long as the car does not move forward. Try playing with the throttle trim on your transmitter.

It wont sound too smooth either. It will be tight for the first gallon / 1/2 gallon. The idle wont be that steady for those tanks, after that it should improve. After a few gallons it will be fine.

If the tires are turning at idle, the idle speed is set too fast or the throttle trim is off a little. Turn the idle speed screw out a little until the tires no longer turn or turn the throttle trim knob until the tires no longer turn.

This is true for when its broken in, but for the first tank when you are idleing on a box the wheels will turn because its running so rich the idle has to be high to prevent stalling...perfectly normal. The more you lean it out the better it will start to sound.
