Not sure but maybe the clutch bell is creating allot of heat somehow?
Clutch shoes slipping, idle set too high etc...

Or clutch bell is out of round or teeth are rounded a bit?

Hope this helps,

Mark

2.5, if the clutch shoes are slipping, that causes the bell to heat up, and that causes the spur to get soft, so it's easy for the clutchbell to just rip the teeth right off the spur

No, it's not true. your friend believes too much of what he reads on the internet. the only "problem" with peoples transmission cases is when they strip their first spur, they overtighten the screws that hold the top of the transmission on, and strip out the screw holes, and THAT causes the transmission to "flex"

too much BS floating around the internet about the Savage X. it's all heresay and conjecture and a bunch of morons trying to convince themselves and each other they're not at fault for anything that goes wrong with the truck
