Default 33% or 20% ??

I have seen some post on nitro befor but actually how much more wear and tear does 33% have on your engine then 20%

Example: Two of the same brand new engines, 1 you ran 20% and the other 33%
How much longer would the engine running 20% compared to the one running 33% last??

just wondering because i can control my temps way better with the 33% then the 20% and i get WAY! better response

I've read somewhere that it robs you of 20% of the engine life but that was 20% vs 30% and I am sure if its true.

P.S. I hope your not using that traxxas crap. Get some Odonnel or Byrons. traxxas fuel is only good for trx engines.

Most of the time, I order my fuel online. Through towerhobbies, the only downside is that you have to buy 4 gallons each time.

I havent used 4 gallons in over 8 months!! 4 Gallons at a time, here in the UK you can order as much as you want from a website, up to 2 gallons. Shipping is free over £49 too. Its only for mainland UK though...

I have to order my fuel as the closes hobby shop is 60 miles and they do not carry what I like. When racing I use anywhere between 1 to 2 gallons a month. Been know to go through 2 gallons in a week.

Run good quality igredients (byron and Odonnell give a good balance of oil, cooling and performance)

running 20 will make your engine last longer but give less performance, 33 will probably make it go like stink but wont last as long.

i reccomend using 20 Byron, great juice, im running 25% and its excellent, but if your just bashing i suggest you use 20 as theres no point trying to get wine from a tomato...

33% is really only for racers and serious competitors... you may have to add a shim under the head to decrease compression and avoid pre-detonation and use a colder plug

Keep in mind that most if not all brands have more then one blend! Like O’Donnell has a Race blend that I use and a RTR blend that I WILL NOT use because the oil content is to high. So brand is not the only thing to be concerned with!

I've been known to go through a gallon in one day just bashing around the ball field. When I take my truck out, I drive the snot out of it. My local Hobby Town makes a killing off of me because I buy so much fuel from them.

As for what to run, don't waste your time with 20%, get a quality 30% and never look back. Our big block engines are designed to safely run 30%, so don't worry about durability issues.

Is traxxas fuel really all that bad? It seems to be O.K.

This coming from a guy whose O.S. .18 hasn't run in 6 months and his Savage is having tuning troubles!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!!!

When I was a noob and bought a Revo 2.5, I killed my engine in 2 weeks. I think it was the trax fuel but my friends tell me
it could have been the dirt that got sucked in the motor when I did not realize the "motor saver" filter fell off.

I guess I will never know [sm=disappointed.gif]

I'm currently on Byron 20% race.... but the local hobby shop doesn't carry it... so I have to travel 45min to get some at another hobby shop. Local sells HPI. [&:]
