Best set up for STS 30
I am getting a STS 30 hopefully tomorrow. I was wondering if you guys could recomend the best pipe, best clutch bell, I got the stock flywheel for the savage 21. will that fit or do i need to use something diffent, if so what? If you could include the manufaturer, that would be sweet too! Once I get everything set up i will post pic and results.

RE: Best set up for STS 30
I run the HPI Polished Pipe, but supposedly the STS .28+ pipe works best, that's what I've heard. I run the HPI 18 tooth CB and HPI Flywheel (3 shoe) and [link=http://cgi.ebay.com/HPI-Savage-X-Aluminum-Race-Adjustable-Clutch-Shoes_W0QQitemZ6047141836QQihZ009QQcategoryZ34063Q QtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem]Nova 3 Shoe Adjustable Clutch Shoes[/link] and Mugen 1.0mm Springs. This is on my STS 28 BTW.

RE: Best set up for STS 30
I want my truck to be the best, but money does not come easy since I am in pipe laying/excavation and frost is comming, that's why I was hopeing my HPi flywheel would work, it's brand new. Anyone test the "bling racing alloy clutch shoes"?

Here what I am looking at so far, HPI 77110 vented 20 tooth bell, ofna 10410 shim kit, mugen c0708 1.0 mm springs. What do you guys think of that? It's wheelies and bashing, jumps and things of that nature I'm going for. I have a 3 speed, BTW.

RE: Best set up for STS 30
u cab try 20 tooth bell and a 47 spur? that might a little over kill. 20/49 will be very tight. u might not be able to mesh it correctly. i have a axial .28 with 17/49 and it's right up againsed the tvp. so 20/49 will probably not fit. thats why i say go with 17/47, or another good caombo. is 18/47 my axial wheelie like crazywith 17/47 and u have a sts .30 . it's up to u what ever bell u get i think u should get a 47 spur. like 18/47

RE: Best set up for STS 30
I bought Trazzas bearings of the same size for my daily basher. I had them for almost 6 months and no problems; of course I lube them as part of dialy shut down. Now that you guys bring it up, I will go ahead and replace them anyways; 6 months is a long time.

benny, the stock header that i have is the wrong type. it's the kind that you use the rubber with. the bearings are very cool how ever.

RE: Best set up for STS 30
The STS pipe is a good pipe and I run it on my buggy but really is not made to be mounted on a Savage as the pressure fitting is really in the wrong location. Would be fine if mounted on the left side like on my buggy.
