ss first impressions and tranny help
just put together my x ss and put 7 tanks through it today.after owning a t_maxx a couple years ago i thought i would try the savage to see if they were as tough as i heard.i could totally see the differance putting it together everything is so much bigger and stronger and well thought out. i like the design much better and seems easy to work on.no problems so far except tranny will not shift yet.should i make an adjustment or wait a few more tanks,im still leaning it out?the last two tanks i started beating it a bit and i honestly dont see many things breaking like the t maxx.just my opinion

I would not start adjusting anything untill you have
motor tuned good. Also you may not hear it shift
because it maybe shifting as soon as you hit the throttle.
I would recomend you go to a large paved parking lot
and after getting engine up to operating temp stop
and then slowly pull out and slowly increase the throttle
untill you hit full speed and listen for it to shift.

Also, changing the size of your tires
or changing clutch bell or spur gear size will
change your shift points. If you are running a 15 tooth
clutch bell and switch to a 17 tooth your shifts will
be sooner. If you adjust shift points to you liking
using a 17 tooth clutch bell and you then switch to
a 15 tooth clutch bell your shifts will be later.
