it's a great motor u will love it. i run a hpi polished pipe, and and i run monster hp (great fule and doesnt have a ton of oil in it)
also if u have not shimed ur diff's u need to before u break it in (it killed it's 1st diff after about 9 tanks into it's break in).
i have 5gal's on here as of now and she still has a ton of life left in her, will still pull up the front end even with ext lcg tvp's and a rx pack on the front tower (18-49 gearing).

take ur time on break in and she will last u a long time.

Got the Hot Bodies Aluminum Polished pipe.... and use Byron's 20% Race Blend. Can't keep the front wheels down with 17/49 and it's not fully broken in yet. May switch to a 17/47 to keep the front wheels down a bit more...

Use the JP-3. That's what i use with my axial .28 and it really cooks. [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXNNE3&P=7]See it here.[/link]

Thanks for your input. I'm set up now at 17/49 i will give it a go like that see what she does. got a stock exhaust, but also got a tsais tuned header dont really want to use cause it goes straight back & blows all the fuel on my wheel and lower arms, shocks, makes a real mess. I will look at some of the exhaust you all mentioned. put a set of bead lock wheels on this upgraded it 17mm tire is a bit bigger so i think the 17/49 might be good .See if it help keeps the front wheel down a bit.Heard a lot of good things about the axial .28 soon will find out .

Keep us posted.. (pics and vids would be great..)

I've got an Axial 28 in my X SS with slightly extended TVP's, and it's geared right now 18/47, which I'm worried might be over-geared.. Prob won't get a chance to break it in for a while cuz of weather and work..

Chronic..

(only ext .6 inches in the front, so uses a rear dog-bone in the front.. I think he can make pretty much what you want... Jeeze, we need to sticky a thread for Chronic's TVP's..)

Very nice quality, and a very good price.

18-47 isnt over geared for the axial. i run 18-49 and cant keep the front down.

it;s fine to break it in that cold out. i used foil around the head and then put a sock over it. one thing though. when you first get it lean the HSN out about a 1/2 turn the factory setting are very very ritch. my truck wouldn't even move with it at the factory settings

Yea like i said some may say different and yes it can be done. Had a friend of mine use foil and it was cold ended up burning up motor just bad luck.don't know how much experience he has . Got to watch how much foil you put around head.Never thouht about the sock thought. If he skipped the foil and use sock he might be ok.

get along dock and cut off the foot part so you just have the get portion. they make it double layered and just put it around the head. so the top can be exposed so you can take the temp.
